Patch Notes - Demo 0.9.2
Howdy, folks!
It's been two months since the last diary! A lot has happened for me since then, including a second house move! It's been super busy but we're settling in to our new home and starting to relax :D
Patch Notes:
- Added a new track - Wild West! Currently the longest track in the game including jumps, long winding corners and lots of fun!
- Fixed a weird bug where the player could drag the cat stats (Speed/Accel/Turn) sliders when choosing a cat (this was purely cosmetic, would not cause any actual stat changes)
- Increased the base speed calculation for cats on 'Easy' difficulty. There shouldn't be any visible difference with this, but it was causing pointless slowdown on tracks with complex navigation
- Persian cats have had another nerf as their acceleration has been decreased slightly and they are now slightly heavier. However their RPM power curve has been adjusted to provide more power at high RPM ranges to compensate for the weight gain.
- Bobtail cats should now have noticably increased acceleration, but at the cost of further reduced top speed. Bobtail is now slower than Tabby in terms of top speed, but its acceleration is unmatched. It's low Turn stat has been unaffected.
- All cats have had their braking power massively reduced to avoid instant spinouts when braking while drifting
- Reduced volume of boosting SFX to help with the current issue of the game being too loud
- Reduced volume of some ambient track SFX to help with the current issue of the game being too loud
- Added a Master Volume slider to the settings menu. This slider will default to 75% for all players
- Fixed a bug where the difficulty rewards were not being correctly applied
Known Issues:
- Sparks caused by drifting too hard can appear if the cat is in the process of rolling over or in the air.
- Game audio is quite loud and inconsistent. Working on a solution to this.
- Cats can sometimes get stuck in the ground. If this happens to you, press the reset button ((Y) on gamepad, [R] on keyboard)
- Some environmental props can be see-through when view at certain angles on the Wild West track. This track is due another art pass.
